Resus Procedural Skills Bootcamp
This course is internal to Galway ED NCHDs, however the course is able to be exported to other facilities (e.g. NGOs, military, etc). Recently, the Galway Resus Academy has partnered with Palmed, a group supporting education for medical students and doctors from Gaza to attend our procedural training.
Galway EM believes that Emergency Medicine is a hands-on specialty.
Therefore, we must train to the level of a specialty that requires hands-on practice.
The Bi-annual Bootcamp is a fully consultant-delivered course held at each NCHD changeover in July and January.
This full-day procedural workshop includes training on standard procedural training for Emergency Physicians, catered to SHOs/Interns and to Registrars.
The day operates as an OSCE station set-up, with over 40 NCHDs trained each 6 months.
