Maeve completed her training in emergency medicine in 2026. During her training she has completed the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care and developed her interests and skills in wilderness and expedition medicine. During training she embarked on an out of programme experience year to work as medic in altitude, maritime, tropical and resource limited environments.

She completed an intensive 3-month trauma resuscitation stint in in Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Johannesburg. She teaches on related courses such as WildMed, WEMSI and ATLS. 

In her free time she likes the water, surfs and volunteers with the RNLI as lifeboat crew.
